The Blue Ridge Orchestra is excited to present Ms. Ayane Okabe in concert, fresh from an appearance at Carnegie Hall!
In a special, one-night-only performance, Ms. Okabe will treat WNC audiences to her virtuosic skill. Together with accomplished local pianist Kimberly Cann, Ms. Okabe will present Tchaikovsky's "Memory of a dear place (Souvenir d'un lieu cher)." Select musicians of the BRO Chamber Strings will also present Allegro in D for Strings from Vivaldi's Op. 46, "Simple Sarabande" from Benjamin Britten's Simple Symphony, and Johann Stamitz's Symphony in G Major.
An up-and-coming violinist in Japan and new graduate of the Tokyo University of the Arts, Ms. Okabe's credits include:
Winner of the Grand Prix - International Competition for Juniors & Students in Japan (2015).
Winner of Yokohama International Competition and several other domestic national competitions (2016).
Studied on the Master's class with Eduard Schmieder (2012), Dora Schwarzberg (2013) and Michael Vaiman (2017) at The Mozarteum University Salzburg
