Guest Conductor, John Gordon Ross, led the BRO in a Nordic-inspired ode to Winter during the beginning of Spring! We are thankful for all of your support as we rescheduled our Feb. 27th concert due to the Omicron strain of COVID-19.
The Blue Ridge Orchestra started off 2022 with a Norwegian-inspired program designed and conducted by John Gordon Ross. President, Deb Kenney mentioned that this concert would “celebrate Winter with music of composers from predominantly Nordic countries, ranging from Finland (Jean Sibelius) to Denmark (Carl Nielsen) to Norway (Edvard Grieg) and back to the U.S (Howard Hanson).” This program showcased Bradford Malbon, flutist, in Nielsen’s challenging Concerto for Flute and Orchestra.
